I have glanced through a few pages of the informative compilation entitled Supreme Court on Words, Phrases and Legal Expressions brought together in two volumes by Supreme Court Advocates T.L. Garg and Rohan Garg. I congratulate the authors for their painstaking endeavour and hard work in bringing out this voluminous collection. The compilation contains exact references to judicial expositions delivered by the Supreme Court in the six decades of its existence, in the form of a user-friendly legal dictionary containing more than 40,000 words, phrases and legal expressions extracted from a plethora of case-law. The compilation is a unique legal encyclopedia comprising words, phrases and legal expressions that would serve as a ready reference for the entire legal fraternity as well as people in vocations other than law. The distinctive feature of this compilation is that it focuses only on Supreme Court rulings. Perhaps, it is for the first time that any author has incorporated 'Legal Expressions' in addition to 'Words and Phrases' to which new or additional interpretations have been given by the Court. The compilation containing 'Words, Phrases and Legal Expressions' is praiseworthy as it contains exact references of Supreme Court pronouncements on almost every branch of law. The authors also need to be complimented for the exhaustive data collected by them and its sequential arrangement in an alphabetical order, enabling the user to instantly locate the relevant case law for their understanding and usage. Undoubtedly, the compilation shall be of immense help to Judges, Lawyers, Academicians, Law students and to all others who are associated with law. I wish the publication all the success.

I was delighted to go through the book Supreme Court on Words, Phrases, and Legal Expressions (Judicially Defined), which has been authored by Mr. T.L. Garg and Mr. Rohan Garg, Advocates of Supreme Court of India. Words, Phrases and expressions have an immense power. In the words of Gautam Buddha, "Words have the power to both destroy and heal. This book is a unique compilation containing 40,000 words, phrases and legal expressions based on the judgments of the Apex Court delivered in the last six decades. Its bare perusal shows that it is an outcome of very painstaking research and dedicated efforts for years. In my view, this is the first time that any author has incorporated legal expression, provincial and vernacular in addition to words and phrases. The titles in this book are very attractive and catchy. In my view, this is perhaps the easiest way of remembering cases. The book has provided sub-headings like - King can do no Wrong, Land Grabber, Kalka Mata ka Mandir, Mithai, National Flag, Cabaret Dance, Bubblegum, Blow Hot and Cold, Black Money, Naked display, Bandit Queen, Bhagalpur Blinding. In every title, there is a reference of the case with citation of A.I.R and S.C.C. decided by the apex court. I think this is best way to find out and remember a case. I can say without hesitation that this is the way even I remember the case laws. I am of the considered view that this compilation fulfils the long felt need for all those who are keen to do research on law declared by the Apex Court. I am confident that proper use of this digest will help in finding out the relevant cases swiftly, easily and in a relatively shorter period. A panoramic view of this compilation clearly gives the impression that this will be of great use to the judges, lawyers, academicians, law students and also to a wide spectrum of people who have an interest in field of law. They would be tremendously benefited by the scientific approach and tremendous hard work done by the authors and publishers in analyzing the words, phrases and expressions defined by the Apex Court during the last six decades.
